News Highlights:
8th Annual Mustang Classic Golf Tournament

Join MCA in its annual golf tournament on Monday, September 20 at Edinburgh USA!  The Maranatha Mustang Golf Classic (MMGC) is designed to cultivate community among MCA supporters while raising money for financial aid scholarships.

You can participate in four different ways:
1. Sponsor:  The majority of funds raised at this well-run event are from our fantastic sponsors!  Join Minnetonka Transportation, our Tournament Sponsor, and support MCA while getting your business' name in front of many important potential clients and business partners!
2. Golf:  The MMGC has room for 144 golfers!  Put together a team and participate in this shotgun start/best ball scramble tournament.  Our gross and net divisions allow for many levels of golfers!  Join in on the action - - your tee time awaits!
3. Donate:  We accept many different levels of prizes.  Join The Lodge at Brainerd Lakes (giving overnight stays), Sears Imports (giving our golfers a chance to win a new Mercedes), and others by donating a prize.
4. Volunteer:  In order to run this tournament with excellence, we are looking for volunteers that want to help out.

To sponsor or register to golf, please log onto www.mustangclassic.golfreg.com and enter the appropriate information.

Drop off and get picked up...at the same time!

This year MCA will help pick you up as you drop your kids off by offering Fair Trade organic coffees in the morning before school!  In addition, a variety of pastries and other breakfast items will be available.  Breakfast will be open each morning 7 a.m. - 7:50 a.m.  All items are reasonably priced and extremely good!

Breakfast is available for students as well.  So, if you have some time in the morning, enjoy a breakfast with your child.  For more information, click here!

Elementary Playground Ready for 2010/2011!

We are pleased to announce that through the diligent work of the 6th Grade Playground Committee, the LWCC Purchasing Department, the MCA elementary staff, and the gifts from our parents, grandparents, and friends of the Academy, the new elementary playground will be ready for the 2010/2011 school year!

The following is the timeline for completion:
- May 20: Apparatus and wood fiber ordered
- June 14-18: Site prep
- June 24: Arrival of materials
- June 25-28: Professional installation

To see a copy of the rendering of the playground, click here.

Also, we were able to attain additional wood fiber for the existing pre-k and kindergarten playground to help bolster the existing material.  Discussions for a second phase to add to the new playground have already started.  As more information becomes available, we will pass it along.  PRAISE THE LORD!

Bridge Project Complete

Mr. Higley's engineering class completed its year-long project of assessing, designing, and building a bridge over Dyer's Creek on the Superior Hiking Trail along the North Shore over the Memorial Day weekend.

Through the effort of some truly amazing students, talented volunteers, and great teachers, MCA was able to erect a 36 foot-long bridge along the 205-mile path.  What a great accomplishment for everyone involved!
